yay wine!!! thats all...

So as my first post in the 300 blogs that my friends and I just created, I am happy to say that I am writing about WINE!!

It's definitely an acquired taste, but anyone who hasn't acquired it must do so now! As a good friend once told me, our taste buds mature every 7 years. So if you don't like it now, chances are you will 7 years from now!

My wine of choice in college was Yellow Tail Chardonnay. In fact, I LOVE all Chardonnay! I could drink that all night long, but in moderation. After college, I started to drink Kendall Jackson, which I order whenever I go out. It's yummy and so much classier. (a little more expensive too, but I that's because it's a TON better)

I'm finally getting used to red wine, but I don't like how you drink it at room temperature. I like my beverages cold, however, my taste buds are getting used to the tangy taste (or is it bitter).

One more thing, I totally sympathize with what ME said about drinking out of wine glasses. I am notorious for breaking my parents nice glasses. I either drop them or place them on the counter too forcefully. It's a curse being clumsy. But it's nice to feel fancy and formal holding a nice glass...I just have to be extra careful. haha. More wine recommendations later!

corkscrews, shoes, and cans

when all else fails... use your shoe.

i thought this video was pretty hilarious, especially since i am just now getting into wine (a little late, i know). i am not sure if i turned my nose up to it because of the unfamiliar taste or the complicated process of opening the bottle. beer is easy. pop the tab, screw off the top, or in rare cases use an opener. nonetheless, using a bottle opener is far less difficult than using a corkscrew. you have to drink wine out of a glass, which is unfortunately risky for anyone who is the slightest bit clumsy (much like myself) or who uses intense hand gestures while talking (like mac, from its always sunny in philly). i guess i could follow in the footsteps of the its always sunny cast and and take empty coke cans and fill them up with boxed wine. i avoid spilling wine from the glass and i dont have to go through the obnoxious process of removing a cork from a bottle. but, if bottled wine with a cork is the only option, i guess i can always try using my shoe.
